Overview

Poptake is a tool for educators to create "reverse-classroom" curriculum.

With Poptake, educators can craft and send lessons with video lectures, quizzes, and other engaging activities for students. Everything is built into the platform and students never have to leave Poptake for any activities.

Poptake was created by the Clayboard (YC W20) team as a pivot into the education space.

Background

Around the covid-era, teacher shortages were a major problem in the US. We spoke to many teachers and school administrators about the strain the education system was feeling, and looked for ways to help.

We saw that embracing the reverse-classroom model in a dedicated tool could help alleviate these problems. Using Poptake in a reverse-classroom, teachers can create engaging lessons for students, then spend their time giving individualized assistance instead of live lecturing.

Role

I worked with the CTO to build out the platform from scratch, using lessons we learned from building our previous product, Clayboard.
